Andrew Hyde

Andrew Hyde is an independent consultant and works with several prominent Washington-area think tanks. In many of his roles he has driven the dialogue on the role of technology in foreign policy, notably information and communications technology and the application of data analytics and artificial intelligence. As an experienced team leader and program manager, he offers innovative, evidence-based solutions for conflict resolution, democracy and governance promotion, economic advancement, civil-military cooperation and strategic development.  

Andrew was a U.S. diplomat for 28 years with significant international leadership and program management accomplishments in current national security challenges, including conflict resolution, stabilization and governance. His regional expertise has centered on Europe, Indo-Pacific and Latin America. He has also worked in both the U.S. House and Senate on a range of issues covering foreign policy, national security, international finance and tax policy. His work experience extends to multilateral organizations, including NATO, the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe and the European Commission. He is proficient in French and Spanish.

Andrew speaks and writes regularly on a range of foreign policy topics. He is a guest lecturer at George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs on multilateral diplomacy and U.S. foreign policy. He has also headlined lectures on U.S. and European stabilization and governance policies in the context of a diplomatic strategy. Andrew has a Master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy (National Defense University), and a BA in International Relations, Economics and Political Science from Dickinson College. He has also graduate credit from Hebrew University in Jerusalem and the London School of Economics.
